It’s a good job toddlers are cute.

Because if my son weren’t absolutely adorable and wonderful 95% of the time I would have been hard pressed not to give him to the highest bidder Saturday morning.

He broke my nose. The little turkey.

My dear spouse had brought a mug of water in for me Friday night. Not just any mug, an enormous holiday mug that holds about a quart of water. My son decided he needed some of that water on Saturday morning, and pulled it down off the headboard onto my nose. Which, until that very moment, had been sleeping peacefully along with the rest of me.

Not one of my better weekends.

So now I have a broken nose. And a black eye to go with it. The cut has been glued back together. It’s a good thing I have contact lenses as back-up or I’d be stumbling around in a foggy blur in addition to everything else.

Of course, all day Sunday the boy kept coming up to me and giving me hugs. Then he’d hold me at arms length, look very seriously at my face, and say earnestly, “Oh Moe!”

Again, cute 95% of the time. But he will absolutely be hearing about this one again when he’s older.
